Meet our Director & Exercise Physiologist Matthew Mikhail
Matthew has loved sports from a very young age. He especially enjoyed playing soccer. Since he had such a great passion for sport, he was compelled by understanding sport injuries and how you can avoid them. This curiosity and interest mixed with a need to help others and improve their lives, led him to a life as an Exercise Physiologist.
When you are in need of an allied health professional to help you with treating your injuries, or managing your disabilities or chronic diseases, you will be hard put to find someone more qualified than Matthew. His natural inclination to be active combined with his extensive knowledge of human anatomy, makes him a force to be reckoned with.
Matthew completed his Master of Applied Science in Clinical Exercise Practice at the University of Victoria, Australia. Not only is Matthew an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP), he is also an Accredited Exercise Scientist (ESSAM), as well as a Remedial Massage Therapist. This makes him a triple threat when it comes to assisting you on your path to a healthier, stronger, and fitter you.
You will be intrigued by the approach Matthew takes when it comes to your injuries, disabilities, or chronic diseases. His compassionate nature shines through whenever he uses clinical exercises as medicine to treat medical conditions. Even though he strongly relies on scientific research and evidence to prescribe exercises to your particular injuries or disabilities, he never lets this overshadow his empathy for your specific condition.
When he is not working, Matthew enjoys spending quality time with his young family and their family dog. Travelling is clearly important to him, since he already visited five continents early on in his life. Reading a good book, enjoying a great barbeque, listening to music from different cultures, and laughing a lot are all things that bring joy to his life.
